Improved traceability in mobile
calibration
Roxspur Measurement and Control operates a Ukas accredited calibration and service laboratory for four fields of expertise: pressure, temperature, flow and electrical parameters
This is associated with a laboratory maintenance and repair service, approved to ISO9001 and ISO17025 For many years Roxspur has provided mobile service and installation engineers for on-site work, using fully equipped vehicles operated from the three regional technical centres

Recently these mobile engineers and the calibration services provided have also gained Ukas accreditation, for calibration work carried out on site.
To improve the traceability and efficiency of these site calibrations, the mobile service engineers have now been issued with handheld computers.
On receipt of a request for on-site calibration work, details of the customer and calibration records and requirements are transmitted wirelessly to these handheld computers, to advise the engineers about the instrument and the history.
On completion of the site work, the calibration results are returned from the engineer to Roxspur head office, where the main computer records are updated, and new certificates printed out.
The full history of the instrument, and the calibration records, are therefore immediately updated on the main computer system, eliminating the delay and any possible misrouting or errors in transcribing paperwork reports form the on-site engineers.
Actual copies of certificates can be provided for the customer by post, or by email or fax if required urgently.
