Sanyo has released the MIR series of cooled incubators, which suit a wide range of applications by accommodating a temperature range of -10 to 60C.

Improving upon the MIR-153 range, the MIR-154 and MIR-254 provide more features for additional applications.

As well as the fluorescent lighting previously featured, the incubators have the option of additional lighting plus the capacity for the lighting to be programmed to suit many applications, for example, plant growth studies.

Biological oxygen demand (BOD) tests and the growth of fruit flies can also be performed in these incubators, in addition to more traditional applications.

The incubators also feature a large LCD display which, in addition to showing current data, will also show up to the previous two weeks' performance data.

An air circulation system is used to reduce the drying out of media and to provide optimum temperature distribution.

The MIR-154 (123-litre capacity) model is also stackable with the optional stacking kit.

The MIR-254 has a capacity of 238 litres.
