Technology reduces the complexity of using differential display approaches to gene discovery, providing improvements in reproducibility and the elimination of false positives

Sigma-Aldrich and Seegene announce that they have entered into a licencing arrangement for access to Seegene's proprietary annealing control primers technology The Seegene ACP technology greatly improves specificity and sensitivity in hybridisation and PCR

Licencing of the annealing control primers technology allows Sigma-Aldrich to further develop its product offerings for differential gene expression.

"The Seegene ACP technology significantly reduces the complexity of using differential display approaches to gene discovery," commented Keith Joliff, manager of global strategic marketing, molecular biology at Sigma-Aldrich.

"Compared to current methodologies, it provides substantial improvements in terms of reproducibility and the elimination of false positives.

"Combining our existing PCR and RT-PCR products with Seegene's ACP technology will enable Sigma to develop a series of products that will greatly enhance research efforts in the areas of gene discovery and expression profiling.".
