Sira has published an updated version of its wallchart showing potentially explosive atmospheres, for use in conjunction with current ATEX directives

Sira Test and Certification has recently produced an updated version of its 'Ex Directory' wallchart.

The wallchart is intended to be used as an information source for both ATEX 100a Directive 94/9/EC and ATEX 137 Directive 1999/92/EC.

Available free of charge by visiting the Sira website, the wallchart outlines all necessary information for the certification of equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Designed to provide an at-a-glance guide for equipment designers and users, the wall chart is invaluable to designers, specifiers, users and manufacturers alike.

The wallchart illustrates: all typical equipment markings and their meanings; protection concepts (increased safety/ flameproof/ intrinsic safety, and pressurised); special requirements for work equipment and workplaces within hazardous areas; compliance routes to meet both European and North American standards and equipment selection General information about hazardous areas is also provided on the chart, such as temperature classes, apparatus groups, and details of employers' obligations under new legislation.

Sira has produced the wallchart to complement its comprehensive range of hazardous area services, which include product certification to international standards and EU directives, area classification, inspection, and training.
