More laboratory accreditation courses

A Sira product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Aug 9, 2001

Sira's first laboratory accreditation course addressing the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 was so successful that additional dates have now been allocated

Delegates who attended the first event, including many from overseas laboratories, all went away aware of how they could improve processes under the aegis of ISO 17025.

They were also better informed about the pitfalls.

The pressure to comply with the new standard is now on in the UK.

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) has made a policy decision that all existing accredited laboratories will be assessed against the new requirements by the end of March 2002.

Any new applicant laboratories are automatically assessed to ISO/IEC17025.

Many laboratories have made the change but there are still many alternative methods of demonstrating compliance, some more efficient/effective than others.

Tutors with practical laboratory and UKAS auditing experience present Sira's laboratory accreditation course.

Equally relevant for those who already have accreditation and those who will be seeking it, the course contains practical exercises, visits to Sira's own accredited laboratories and opportunity for one to one discussion with the tutors as well as formal lectures which are backed up with comprehensive course notes.

The next dates for the two-day laboratory accreditation course at Sira in Chislehurst, Kent are: 18 and 19 September 2001 and 19-20 March 2002 at a cost of £600 + VAT per delegate.
