How to handle biochips: intensive
two-day course

Scienion added a new service to its portfolioin March 2003: prospective customers now have the opportunity to learn the essentials of dealing with DNA microarrays in a two-day course

At the two day course, biochip users will be introduced to new applications in DNA array technology and taught the skills they need to exploit scientific knowledge and biomedical research optimally for their own projects Participants of these intensive courses, which will be held in specially equipped training laboratories at Scienion, will benefit from the technology, products and expertise of the Berlin biotech company

Scicourse, as the company has dubbed the series of workshops, targets university graduates, technicians and division heads of biotechnology companies, and anyone else who would like to delve deeper into microarray technology.

"The participants receive information about all aspects of DNA (glass) arrays - from preparation of the target, labelling with fluorescent dyes, hybridisation and scanning, to the analysis and evaluation of array experiments - all of this practically oriented and first hand from our scientific staff," explains Scienion chairman Alan Bullock.

"To guarantee both intensive work with the available laboratory equipment as well as individual training," adds Sandra Prietz, services project manager, "we are purposely limiting the size of the workshop groups.

"To prepare them both theoretically and practically, participants will work together through detailed instructions, step by step".

The series of workshops began on 20/21 March 2003 and was initially offered on a monthly basis. Request a free brochure from Scienion ...
