Neutron monitor sets new standard

A Southern Scientific product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Nov 29, 2002

Improved range and sensitivity in a rugged design with simple one step calibration making it easy to use and ideal for use in linear accelerators and other medical applications

Swendi-2 is a new, wide energy neutron detector available exclusively in the UK from Southern Scientific.

A state-of-the-art detection system using a 3He tube detector provides a sensitivity of 1.13cps/mSv/hour.

This makes the Swendi-2 more sensitive than most contemporary detectors and with an improved energy response above 2MeV.

Covering an extremely wide energy range from thermal through 30MeV, Swendi-2 measures just 33.7cm high and 22.9cm in diameter and weighs only 13.38kg.

The rugged design and simple one step calibration makes it easy to use and ideal for use in linear accelerators and other medical applications.
