Electro-elution system is fast and
flexible
Versatile sample preparation technology for electro-elution from gels and solutions enables rapid purification of proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates and other biomolecules
An extremely versatile sample preparation technology for electro-elution from gels and solutions which has been developed by Harvard/AmiKa scientists, is at the heart of a new electrophoresis-based system recently introduced into the UK by Scie-Plas The ElectroPrep system enables rapid purification of proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates and other biomolecules, with an average purification time of just five to ten minutes

ElectroPrep can be used for a range of applications including electroelution, on-line dialysis, electro-concentration, selective electro-filtration, size fractionation and primer salt, detergent or dye-terminator removal.
Speed and convenience are important benefits of ElectroPrep, even at the very low currents of 5 to 10mA, used with this system.
The sample and elution chamber are made from PTFE, a completely inert material which is especially suited for high sample recovery and reduces both the cleaning and maintenance steps.
A variety of membranes are available for use with the ElectroPrep unit based on the different MWCO (molecular weight cut off) membranes, ranging from 100 to 300,000 Daltons.
This gives a high degree of selectivity for elution, filtration, dialysis, fractionation and concentration.
The membranes are available in a variety of materials including cellulose acetate, regenerated cellulose and polycarbonate.
Other important features and benefits of the ElectroPrep system include faster dialysis time, reusability of parts, compatibility with most sample sizes, large or small, ease-of-use, leak-proof, autoclaveable PTFE parts and low sample binding along with high sample recovery.
