Manufacturer of physicochemical profiling instruments Sirius Analytical Instruments announces the appointment of a new distributor for south east Asia, located in Singapore

Sirius has appointed Palico Biotech to handle sales to Singapore and emerging markets in south east Asia Palico originally approached Sirius with a potential order from an existing Palico customer in Singapore for one of Sirius's physicochemical profiling instruments

Patrick Tham for Palico explains, "Sirius Analytical Instruments is the global market leader in tools for physicochemical property analysis and their products complement our existing product mix.

The biotech and pharmaceutical industries in and around Singapore are developing rapidly and Palico already distributes product lines for Sartorius, B Braun Biotech International, Sigma Centrifuges etc." The Singapore government has placed strong emphasis onto R and D in biomedical and life sciences and has allocated substantial research grants for the purpose.

Palico believes that there is a large potential demand for Sirius instruments in this environment.

Palico currently sells to biotechnology companies, research institutes, universities and pharmaceuticals.

Singapore-based Palico was established in 2000, and intends to take advantage of immediate opportunities for the biotechnology industries in their region.

Palico will be distributing a selection of Sirius's leading instruments, including GLpKa, PCA200, D-PAS, ProfilerSGA, ProfilerLDA, RefinementPro, Absolv and GLpH.

John Comer of Sirius officially signed Palico at Pittcon 2003 in Orlando and comments "This is the first step into this area for Sirius - we see this as the start of a fruitful relationship.".
