A range of laboratory and on-site analytical services, developed to help contractors, landowners and consultants faced with issues surrounding water pollution and contaminated land

Southern Water Scientific Services will be exhibiting a range of laboratory and on-site analytical services, developed to help contractors, landowners and consultants faced with issues surrounding water pollution and contaminated land The company, which has recently made a significant investment in new sampling and analytical technologies, particularly with regards to organics analysis, will be announcing a 50% increase in its laboratory capacity at ET2004, which takes place at the NEC, UK, from 30 March to 1 April

Southern Water Scientific Services's water testing facilities are already used extensively by both the public and private sectors.

The company can check for a broad range of pesticides, metals and hydrocarbons in both liquids and soils.

State of the art field sampling techniques and laboratory procedures allow Southern Water Scientific Services to offer what it says is a superior service in the area of brownfield investigation and analysis.

"Our expertise in water sampling, which is applied to drinking water, wastewater and sludge analysis, is rapidly finding favour in the contaminated land sector" explains laboratory commercial team manager Rob Fuller.

Accurate site sampling should form a critical part of all surveys and investigations, according to Fuller.

Without the correct information prior to clean up, either the remediation is unlikely to be completely effective or there will be a cost over-run.

Using its own team of scientists and specially adapted all-terrain vehicles, Southern Water Scientific Services carry out their own site sampling for a client, prior to conducting the laboratory analysis.

Southern Water Scientific Services is on stand F52 at ET2004.
