Syringe filter range expands

New syringe filter, for sterilising liquid samples up to 100ml, contains a polyethersulphone membrane with an asymmetric, single layer, high-flow structure for chemical stability

Sartorius Vivascience has launched the new 0.1um membrane Minisart that adds to the already extensive range, accepted by many laboratories as the number one choice for syringe filters The new Minisart 0.1um syringe filter, for sterilising liquid samples up to 100ml, contains a polyethersulphone (PES) membrane with an asymmetric, single layer, high-flow structure that assures exceptional chemical stability

Filtration of aggressive solutions at high and low pH ranges can be carried out at ease.

A typical hold-up volume for the Minisart range is around 0.1ml and features a large pleated filtration area of 26mm with low adsorptivity.

The high flow rate reduces filtration time, minimises product loss and reduces the force needed to push particle-laden solutions through the membrane.

Every Minisart syringe filter is manufactured without the use of glues or resins.

Sartorius carefully inserts the PES high-flow membrane and heat-seals the biologically safe outer shells together.

Each unit is Eto sterilised, guaranteed pyrogen-free and is batch-tested for bacterial retention according to the ASTM F838-83 standard.

Gamma sterilisation is also available upon request.

Further tests are conducted to ensure no cytotoxic activity against L-929 mouse fibroblast cells.

A major advantage of using the Sartorius Vivascience range of Minisarts in the laboratory is that the syringe filters are manufactured with the same materials of construction as the larger filter capsule and cartridge/housing units.

Scaling up and validating your application from lab scale to full process volume is therefore made faster, easier and cheaper. Request a free brochure from Sartorius UK ...
