The new drivers include 64-bit versions for the RedHat, SuSe and Fedora distributions, together with updates for their 32-bit drivers that support kernels 2.4 and 2.6

Strategic Test has announced new and updated Linux drivers for its range of UltraFast waveform digitiser, arbitrary waveform generator and fast digital I/O boards The driver source code is available upon request

This is important since the transition from 2.4 to 2.6 kernels may cause the user to recompile the driver on their host PC, particularly if they have modified the distribution for multi-processor operation.

It can also be used to port the driver to other Linux distributions such as Scientific Linux and operating systems including VxWorks.

The same simple programming concept is found in all Windows and Linux drivers, allowing customers to upgrade their OS without modifying their application code.

In line with the company's policy of free-of-charge lifetime software updates, the drivers can be downloaded from the company website support area.
