Neutral fielding - a new industry first
This new feature can be used to automatically eliminate uneven light illumination and lens distortion effects to generate more precise images of fluorescent and visible dye labelled gels
Syngene announces the availability of neutral fielding on all Genius image analysis systems This new feature, exclusive to Syngene, can be used to automatically eliminate uneven light illumination and lens distortion effects to generate more precise images of fluorescent and visible dye labelled gels

New image analysis range
Syngene is promising to unveil 'revolutionary' new image analysis systems of particular interest to molecular biologists at the Biotechnica show this year
Based on a set of powerful algorithms, neutral fielding can correct for uneven illumination effects without altering the signal on the gel.
This results in an image with a flat, even background, ensuring the benefit of accurate quantification of true spots and bands.
GLP compliance is guaranteed during image capture and application of neutral fielding, since the Genius's camera settings provide feedback to the software about each image.
For each gel image the software recognises whether a previously acquired neutral field can be used or a new one has to be captured, making it impossible to apply an inappropriate neutral field.
Neutral fielding now comes as standard on all models in the Genius range.
This includes Syngene's high performance, 16 bit technology systems, the GeneGenius gel image analyser and ChemiGenius2 the ultimate multi-functional analyser for chemiluminescent, fluorescent and visible dye labelled applications.
Paul Ellwood, Syngene's sales and marketing director, stated: "Neutral fielding is another great new innovation from Syngene.
"There is nothing currently on the market to rival this feature and it puts the Genius range out there in a class of its own. Request a free brochure from Syngene ...
"For scientists that demand the most accurate quantification, neutral fielding will make a Genius the system of choice.".
