Sysmex UK has appointed Karin Turner as its latest IT applications specialist in anatomical pathology, for its Info Systems department

The appointment of Karin Turner follows her secondment to Sysmex Molis in Belgium last year, where she provided extensive training in technical support and the installation of the anatomical pathology (AP) software Karin also worked on major installations at the Walton Centre, Liverpool and in Leiden, Netherlands

Following 3 years training in biochemistry, haematology, microbiology, serology, and blood bank laboratories, Turner was awarded the NZCS (NZ Certificate of Science) in medical lab technology.

Her subsequent job at New Zealand based Delphic Medical Systems involved the testing of new software and providing technical support to customers.

During her eight years as a member of the customer support team, she participated in installations, training, and world-wide site visits.

Other roles included Lotus Notes programming, and the setting up and management of in-house databases.

After travelling for a year, she re-joined Delphic NZ in 2000 as part of the Domino product team specialising in Lotus Notes and whose main product is AP software.
