Efficient prothrombin time test for healthcare

A Sysmex UK product story

Internal normalised ratio monitoring system is an in vitro diagnostic system that brings quantitative laboratory-quality results to the point of care environment

Sysmex UK has been appointed exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for the Hemosense INRatio PT-INR point of care monitor and associated consumables as of 1 March 2004.

Prothrombin time (PT) is the traditional method of determining the efficacy of oral anticoagulation therapy.

The internal normalised ratio (INR) corrects for the variability in PT results caused by differing sensitivities (ISI) of the thromboplastin agents used in laboratories.

The INRatio PT monitoring system is an in vitro diagnostic system that brings quantitative laboratory-quality results to the point of care environment.

The easy to use Hemosense strip test and reader offers healthcare professionals an efficient PT test method for hospital wards, clinics, and community testing.

Small, lightweight and portable, the device requires only one drop of blood to obtain PT results in less than two minutes.

The INRatio provides consistent and reliable results for confident testing in clinics.

Immediate dosage adjustments can be made with the patient, and phone calls and coordination with patients and external laboratories can be reduced.

Quality is assured through high and low controls on each disposable strip, which are tested in parallel with every sample.

No external controls or materials are required.

Up to 60 tests can be stored and the device self-diagnoses any testing problems encountered.
