Why? Probably because reports that are in HTML format can be viewed in any standard browser from anywhere in the world.
However, a major obstacle most companies face is how to automatically generate 'home pages' that provide navigation to their published reports so that the reports are available for immediate access by remote users.
XWeb Director is the ideal interface to generate custom home pages that are automatically hyperlinked to any unstructured collection of HTML files.
With its easy-to-use designer, XWeb Director provides an environment to specify the 'look and feel' of the home page, the specific directories that contain the HTML files and the output location eg, fileserver or web server.
Each time a new HTML page is published to the specific directories, the home pages and hyperlinks are updated accordingly.
With a wide assortment of web styles to choose from, a configurable set of user menus and flexible directory displays, automation engineers can easily meet the needs of their customers.
"As we develop web based functionality, we must keep the needs of our users in focus," stated Peter Kaprielian, president and CTO of SyTech, "XWeb Director removes the obstacles in automating web page publishing, such as indexing and navigation, without the need for any web programming.
This will permit our users to achieve web based publishing and not require the involvement of specialised web personnel.".
