The Symyx Benchtop System, winner of the Association for Laboratory Automation's 2007 new product award, automates parallel processing of multiple steps of experimental procedures on one deck

Symyx Technologies has announced availability of an automated system designed to prepare chemical samples for a broad range of analytical tests in both regulated and non-regulated environments The Analytical Sample Preparation application integrates solid powder, liquid and viscous dispense on the same platform with weighing capabilities, supported by Symyx Software

"What used to be a very time consuming, but necessary, step in experimentation can now be automated by leveraging Symyx liquid- and powder-handling technology," said Gerard Abraham, president of Symyx Tools.

"Scientists no longer need to be involved in the routine handling of chemicals during the preparation phase.

"The automated analytical prep benchtop system gives scientists more time for science and the capability to expand their research programs in a highly efficient and cost-effective manner".

The system is scaleable to perform automated experimentation for complete lab processes which would include integration with lab equipment and the ability to support document browsing and searching, enterprise-level security and auditing, and configurable document workflow.
