8 December 2009 - Symyx has appointed John Senaldi as senior vice-president and as president of its high-productivity research (HPR) business unit.

Symyx HPR delivers premium microscale and parallel experimentation tools, along with supporting services and software, to the life sciences, chemicals and energy, and consumer and industrial products industries.

16 September 2009 - Symyx Technologies has announced the opening of a software research and development centre in Bangalore, India.

Developers at the facility will collaborate with other Symyx sites on the company's core scientific information management software solutions, including the Symyx enterprise electronic lab notebook, data acquisition software, decision-support software and scientific information databases.
