TAP displays cell culture system at ESACT

A The Automation Partnership product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Jun 10, 2009

The Automation Partnership (TAP) is showcasing its Compact Cellbase cell culture system at the European Society for Animal Cell Technology (ESACT) meeting.

It is an automated system designed for culturing stem cell and other adherent cell lines in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment.

Based on TAP's Compact Select cell culture system, it is available with configurable cell processing protocols.

This offers cell therapy manufacturers the flexibility to automate cell seeding, expansion, media changing and cell harvesting in an aseptic environment.

An optional module is also available to measure confluence and, at set thresholds, to automatically begin cell harvesting, maintaining stem cells in an undifferentiated state without manual intervention.

Using a Compact Cellbase reduces the number of manual processing steps and eliminates the possibility of cross-contamination, making it ideal for producing cells for use in the clinic.

The system comes with detailed Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ) and support for Performance Qualification (PQ) procedures, making on-site validation in a GMP environment a more straightforward task.
