Filters for quick reliable GC and GC/MS
analyses
Gas filters improve the quality of the gas going into the chromatography system (99.9999% pure or 6.0 grade), providing better analyses, compound identification and quantitation
Thermo Electron announces the introduction of two new gas filters, the Click-On and Super Clean These products have been specifically developed to address the needs of GC and GC/MS users in the environmental, food and beverage, flavour and fragrance, petrochemical and chemical industries, who filter their gas to improve analysis

The Click-On inline and Super Clean cartridge gas filters improve the quality of the gas going into the system (99.9999% pure or 6.0 grade), providing better analyses, compound identification and quantitation.
The new gas filters feature moisture, oxygen and hydrocarbon removal options as well as combinations of the three.
Column lifetimes are prolonged by eliminating the damage associated with oxygen presence.
Moreover, they produce quicker, more reliable results with less system down time and improved sensitivity, achieved through lower detector noise levels, says Thermo.
The Click-On inline gas filter is equipped with reusable end fittings, which contain needle valves that seal the gas line during filter replacement, thus preventing contamination and eliminating the need to flush the replacement filter, gas lines and instrument.
Previously, changing the inline filter involved down time, tricky installation with tools and then a period of flushing the system before restarting it.
The Super Clean cartridge gas filter system utilises base plates to hold the cartridge(s) and is available in a number of different designs depending on the gas combination that is to be filtered.
To further reduce instrument down time, and increase lab efficiency, all the filters are available preconditioned with helium for GC/MS use.
