The Testo 174 is a miniature single-channel temperature data logger with a built-in thermistor sensor.
The sensor is highly accurate and allows the logger to be used in a moist environment, or outside.
The logger dimensions are matchbox size (55 x 35 x 14 mm), with a tiny list price of £39.00, or £85.00 for the introductory pack including software and interface.
The 174 data logger has a memory of up to 3900 readings, one-touch start and an easy-to- read display.
While logging, the display can switch between the current reading, minimum/maximum value, the user-defined limit values and the battery life in days.
The measured data can also be downloaded for analysis and printed out using the user-friendly software.
Testo's Comsoft 3 software is available as a basic and also a professional package.
The basic software is ideal for analysing and presenting data in graphs and tables and has a new email feature allowing data to be directly downloaded to a pre-programmed email address.
Comsoft 3 professional software has all the features of the basic version and allows the user to assign a person's name, department, company name, comments, and send e-mail.
Helpfully the professional software can toggle between number boxes and histogram on screen to define data trends and use the cross-hair function to analyse anomalies.
The professional software is ideally suited to managing and analysis of multi-logging and/or multi-location data logging systems where users require advanced data filing.
During programming the user can define the Testo 174 logger's upper and lower alarm trigger levels.
To the make the stored data extremely secure there are options for a tamper-proof wall holder and lock, and when the battery becomes empty or is changed while in operation the data is not lost and can still be downloaded.
Uniquely, the full memory can be completely downloaded in less than ten seconds, a great time saving.
