A next generation proteomics suite provides a set of novel tools which leverage the sensitivity and accuracy of both the Finnigan linear ion trap and hybrid mass spectrometers

Thermo Electron will be displaying many new products across a variety of technologies at Analytica 2004 in Munich, Germany, 11-14 May A next generation proteomics suite provides a set of novel tools which leverage the sensitivity and accuracy of both the Finnigan LTQ linear ion trap and Finnigan LTQ FT hybrid mass spectrometers

Included in the suite are the vMaldi ion source and Finnigan ProteomeX LTQ, which allow for customised, high throughput Maldi and LC/MS analysis capabilities, as well as Sequest software, which provides unrivalled accuracy for protein identification.

A new ion bright source for enhanced GC/MS enables the Finnigan DSQ mass spectrometer to detect and examine low-level analytes in challenging matrices, and allows the analyst to run more samples with less downtime, thus saving on overall maintenance and running costs.

By determining the very low levels in compounds, these spectrometers can minimise extraction time and resources, while still achieving excellent levels of sensitivity for fast screens and a large dynamic range for quantitation.

The first high precision interface for on-line LC/IRMS - the Finnigan LC IsoLink extends the capabilities of the Finnigan gas isotope ratio product range.

This interface provides easy access to IRMS precision via a simple online, direct coupling.

The Finnigan LC IsoLink enables the ratio of stable carbon isotopes, specifically 13C/12C to be determined online, with LC separation of the analysed compounds.

In addition to innovative chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation, Thermo Electron will also demonstrate a range of other products, software and services for a number of applications.

These will include new developments in elemental analysis, with the X series ICP-MS and in molecular spectroscopy, with Thermo's latest FT-IR systems - the Nicolet FT-IR spectrometer and Continuum XL infrared imaging system, and the Antaris IGS FT-IR gas analyser.

Thermo Electron will also be displaying the most comprehensive range of sample preparation equipment ever assembled under the Thermo name, including the recently acquired range of Jouan products, and will be showcasing the introduction of the new Finnpipette Novus and the Espresso centrifuge.

Thermo is in hall A2, booths 405, 504 and 505, at Analytica 2004.
