Chromatography data archiving

A Thermo Fisher Scientific (Informatics) product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Aug 6, 2001

Thermo Labsystems has released archival functionality for the Atlas chromatography data system, allowing storage, search, retrieval, and manipulation of data

Thermo LabSystems announces the availability of an integrated archival and database capability for its award-winning Atlas chromatography data system (CDS).

The new technology, based on the company's eRecordManager product, allows the easy storage, search, retrieval, viewing and manipulation of raw data, method details and results from within Atlas.

Thermo LabSystems claims that Atlas Archival is unique in also providing the ability to re-process data from virtually any other chromatography data system or instrument, allowing laboratories to realize the asset in their historical data with no reliance on the original software, operating system or hardware.

Atlas users are now able to address all the issues regarding long-term record keeping within the constraints of 21 CFR Part 11 and other similar regulatory protocols, while exploiting all the benefits that knowledge management presents.

Atlas Archival allows users to data-mine, compare and visualise chromatographic data across the whole enterprise, helping customers to develop new predictive models and new ways of analysing samples.

The platform-independence that Atlas Archival offers for accessing data is based on its powerful library of file converters, which automate the translation into XML format; the industry standard file format for data storage and transfer.

Atlas is a 32-bit chromatography data system focused on delivering laboratory productivity by adapting to laboratory workflow and offering improved ease of use.

Its design means it is highly scaleable and as applicable for single workstations as it is for networked laboratories with multiple users and channels.

Atlas facilitates full compliance with the 21 CFR Part 11 Rule on electronic signatures and records.
