SampleManager 2001 LIMS
Thermo LabSystems has released the latest generation of its flagship enterprise LIMS product, SampleManager 2001, offering a number of significant new advances in functionality
Among the highlights of SampleManager 2001 is sophisticated support for electronic signatures, in accordance with FDA Ruling 21 CFR Part 11.
Each signature, which can be applied to any piece of data, is stored with a checksum based on user-defined record files and verified by a 160-bit security algorithm.
Facilities are also provided for easy review of incidences of electronic signature success or failure.
SampleManager 2001's new Active Desktop enhances user-friendliness in an application already acknowledged for its ease of use.
This offers an entire home page providing users with single-click access to all SampleManager functions, in addition to all standard Windows menus and toolbars.
Users are able to customise the page to add graphics of, for example, their process plant, laboratory or workflow, or provide quick access to Intranet sites and SOPs.
Further new developments include improvements to the SampleManager Explorer, enhanced browse facilities, a redesigned result entry interface for both single sample and spreadsheet result entry and a Help function delivered as HTML.
Further development has focused on delivering productivity benefits to be gained through enhanced integration with plant process and corporate enterprise systems.
Thermo LabSystems is also releasing new versions of integration solutions with leading corporate systems, SAP R/3 enterprise resource planning (ERP) and OSIsoft's PI (plant information).
With an installed base of over 1000 systems and around 16,000 concurrent users worldwide, SampleManager is one of the most established and industrially-robust LIMS on the market.
The solution is designed to support laboratory operations and integrate those operations into the corporate enterprise.
Industries served include manufacturing, chemicals and process, pharmaceutical, food and beverages, water, environmental, and biotechnology.
