Software to integrate
laboratory-to-process

Thermo LabSystems has announced the availability of the latest version of SM-IP21, interfacing SampleManager LIMS to Aspen's Infoplus21 process information management system

SM-IP21 is developed by Thermo LabSystems's business partner, Orbis Information Systems, a systems integrator specialising in the integration of plant and laboratory applications into the wider enterprise This latest release of SM-IP21 utilises an upgraded architecture and offers a number of compelling enhancements to enable customers to better understand and optimise plant production

SM-IP21 is installed worldwide in plant and manufacturing sites in the petrochemical, food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries.

A highlight of SM-IP21's latest enhancements is the ability it offers users to configure integration logic with fully reusable components, thereby reducing time in system setup and configuration.

The integration server handles all transaction requests, executes the integration rules and ensures successful transfer of data.

Configuration is done through a dedicated graphical user interface that provides a centralised environment where integration rules are built, maintained and managed.

Product installation is eased through an install shield with the consequential automation of procedures that were previously manual.

SM-IP21 now supports highly complex integration transactions.

SM-IP21 now allows multiple, or many-to-many, integration scenarios with full data mapping and translation capability.

SM-IP21 was launched in 1998, through a partnership between Thermo LabSystems, AspenTech and Orbis Information Systems, to overcome the challenges facing large manufacturing organisations in integrating the information flow between their real-time process systems and their off-line analytical testing groups.
