ALcontrol adopts Nautilus
Thermo LabSystems says that ALcontrol Laboratories, one of the largest independent testing organisations in Europe, has selected its Nautilus LIMS after a year-long investigation
The implementation of Nautilus will be phased over the next three years at ALcontrol's network of testing laboratories located in UK, Ireland, Netherlands, and Sweden.
With a current turnover of over ?100 million, ALcontrol analyses more than two million samples per year.
ALcontrol offers services to the food analysis and environmental (water, land and air) testing markets.
Each of ALcontrol's business streams makes different demands on LIMS and the company's decision to deploy Nautilus at all its laboratories is credit to the product's flexibility and broad functional coverage.
Nautilus will be installed to help process large volumes of samples efficiently and effectively, ensuring ALcontrol is able to offer high quality, rapid sample analysis along with the highest customer service levels.
Mick O'Hanlon, LIMS project manager at ALcontrol, commented on the agreement: "ALcontrol identified that successful operation in the analytical market is built on an excellent IT platform and associated systems.
Our central philosophy is based on the development of a production-driven analytical platform across all our European laboratories, the core of which is based on an appropriate LIMS system.
The configurability that Nautilus offers will ensure that this LIMS bedrock will be both appropriate and scalable for ALcontrol's immediate and future needs.
"The structure and goals of a supplier of a LIMS to ALcontrol need to reflect those of ALcontrol itself.
We are confident that the evaluation period has provided us with sufficient insight into Thermo LabSystems to prove just that," asserted O'Hanlon.
