Pittcon preview: Thermo LabSystems

A Thermo Fisher Scientific (Informatics) product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Mar 21, 2002

eRecordManager XML-based long-term analytical data archival software takes centre stage in 'total laboratory informatics suite' at the New Orleans show

Thermo LabSystems says it will focus its demonstrations at Pittcon on its comprehensive laboratory informatics suite, which is based upon a formidable range of market-leading products and the backup of Pathfinder, the company's global services group.

Tight integration between Thermo LabSystems's solutions, plus powerful interfaces to third party and Thermo Electron instrument data systems, provides customers with total solution for laboratory informatics.

This integrated solution offers all the benefits of single-vendor source and support and helps eliminate the inefficiencies of processing paper in the laboratory.

At Pittcon 2002, Thermo LabSystems will also be officially launching eRecordManager, its new software solution for long-term analytical data archival.

eRecordManager plays a pivotal role in the company's integrated offering and will be a major highlight of its Pittcon exhibit.

In addition to storing files in their original format, eRecordManager automates the translation of more than 150 analytical data file formats into a platform-neutral format based on XML.

Thermo LabSystems representatives at Pittcon 2002 will be demonstrating eRecordManager integrated with Thermo Galactic's desktop spectroscopy software, Grams/AI.

Using eRecordManager and Grams/AI in tandem, spectral data in any original format is available for advanced reprocessing, visualisation, and library searching.

eRecordManager will also be presented with Thermo Nicolet's Omnic and Result software, Thermo Finnigan's Xcalibur software, and Thermo Spectronic's Aminco Bowman series 2 luminescence spectrometer, all of which offer the user the ability to archive files for the long term to support 21 CFR Part 11 compliance and information sharing.
