E-learning events for Lims
Internet education events allow users to learn latest Lims functionality without having to leave the office, and without using their own lab's operational system
Thermo LabSystems has introduced a series of e-learning events designed to update customers on the latest functionality of its enterprise Lims (laboratory information management system), SampleManager The events will include online presentations, demonstrations and hands-on exposure to the product, delivered by tutors from the company's education services group based at Altrincham, UK

These synchronous, interactive events are being held on 13 February, 14 February, 6 March, and 7 March 2003.
For the convenience of SampleManager customers in both Europe and the Middle East, they commence each day at 10am GMT and last four hours.
Participants will have full access to a SampleManager 2002 installation hosted by Thermo, with no risk of corrupting their own lab's operational system.

New SampleManager Lims functionality for ISO 17025
Thermo Fisher Scientific will introduce new functionality to its flagship SampleManager Lims that facilitates compliance with the requirements of ISO 17025: 2005, at Analytica 2008 in Munich
Among some of the SampleManager features to be covered during each event will be the new Tabular Report Generator, the Criteria Editor, the Calculation and Formula Builder, and enhancements to access and security functionality.
Event tutors will be available throughout to guide, instruct and answer questions specific to individuals lab's use of the Lims.
Additionally, they will be able to interact with fellow participants via textual messaging and a concurrent telephone conference.
Dates of events scheduled specifically for North American customers are to be confirmed in the near future.
Colin Mackay, leader of Thermo's education services team, commented on the new initiative: "We are always looking to take advantage of proven and secure internet delivery of solutions and services for the benefit of customers.
Designed to complement our traditional classroom training courses, these events allow our customers to gain real practical experience trying out all the latest advances in SampleManager, without leaving their own desks.
Furthermore, participants have no need to arrange travel and accommodation normally associated with software training.
Due to cost savings and convenience, we expect these events will prove extremely popular".
