Formerly entitled Thermo LabSystems World, the 2003 event follows recent successful conferences in Cannes in 2002, Berlin in 2001 and Noordwijk in 2000.
The programme for 2003 features presentations from leading industry users of Thermo's informatics solutions, with confirmed speakers to date including Covance and Aventis.
The conference provides the opportunity for senior laboratory and IT managers from all industries to meet and discuss issues regarding laboratory informatics solutions, evolving technologies and changing market requirements.
New for 2003 will be a product stream for the award-winning eRecordManager solution and introductory presentations of Grams A/I spectral data processing package.
Following the merger with sister business Thermo Galactic, Thermo has added desktop spectroscopy software for data processing, data management, 3D data viewing, spectral reference databases, and chemometrics to its informatics portfolio.
Attendees will also learn more about the recently formed and ongoing collaboration with IBM Life Sciences, which has a representative speaking as part of the programme.
As in previous years, there will be language streams, presentations and breakout sessions in French and Spanish, as well as English.
The venue, Barcelo Hotel Sants, is centrally located near to the main railway station, with a direct line to Barcelona airport and a single stop from Plaza Catalunya.
