Director of services for informatics business
Thermo Electron announces the appointment of David Champagne to the position of director of services, informatics and services
David Champagne will lead worldwide implementation, training, validation and support service for Thermo Electron's suite of laboratory informatics solutions.
Best known for its Lims products (SampleManager and Nautilus), chromatography data system client/server solution (Atlas) and data archival and knowledge management solution (eRecordManager), Thermo's informatics business was formerly known as Thermo LabSystems and Thermo Galactic.
Champagne has considerable experience delivering high-quality services and support for mission-critical software applications to global customers.
Dave's career includes a 13-year term at Lotus Development (later acquired by IBM), serving most recently as senior vice president of worldwide services.
While at Lotus/IBM, he led a global support and service organisation of over 1200 service professionals that addressed the needs of customers in over 80 countries.
More recently, Champagne was president and CEO of ProActivity Software, an early-stage venture that provides business process analysis solutions, and President and CEO of Upspring Software, a development tools vendor, before it was acquired by MKS.

As such, he is ideally suited to the role and a key addition to our leadership team." Champagne holds a BS in industrial engineering from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Bryant College.
He will be based out of Thermo's offices in Beverly, MA, USA.
