Free technical seminars on proteomics and LC-MS
Thermo Electron will host a series of free, educational and application-driven technical seminars across Europe from October to December 2003
The first seminar series, organised jointly with new alliance partner Amersham Biosciences, will address the most up-to-date developments in proteomics.
The second programme of seminars will review the latest progress in LC-MS applications, technologies and software.
The seminars will take place at various locations in Europe.
Both seminar programmes will feature contributions from prominent members of the scientific community and include practical presentations designed to enhance the challenges of laboratory analysis.
Thermo hopes its seminars will be an ideal forum to meet and discuss issues regarding laboratory applications and instrumentation, evolving technologies and changing market requirements.
The seminars on proteomics will explore gel-based and LC-based approaches to proteomics combining Thermo's expertise in mass spectroscopy development and Amersham Biosciences's lead in protein sample preparation and separation.
Seminar dates will commence on 27 October in Rome and end on 7 November in Basel.
This European tour will further promote protein study and research and has been endorsed by the Human Proteome Organisation (HUPO) as part of its education programme.
The LC-MS seminars will focus on Thermo's latest generation of LC-MS instruments - triple quadrupole mass spectrometers (Finnigan TSQ Quantum) and the new linear trap mass spectrometer (Finnigan LTQT).
They will be of particular interest to analysts in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries, as well as CROs wishing to keep abreast of advances in mass spectroscopy.
These seminars will run from 6 October in Oslo and end on 4 December in India.
