Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Nov 6, 2001

Thermo Elemental has designed the new benchtop X-Series ICP-MS, said to be the smallest in the world, with reliability and ease of use foremost in mind

This high sample throughput, workhorse ICP-MS requires minimal set up, while returning maximum productivity in the laboratory.

The ideas and practices pioneered in consumer driven businesses have been adapted to the design and build of this new ICP-MS instrumentation, where expected levels of performance and service are now just as rigorous.

Designed for maximum uptime with minimum maintenance, the compact, easy access construction of the instrument makes it quick and easy to install.

At the design stage, critical mechanical components were stress tested for durability, to maximise reliability.

The fundamental analytical components of the instrument including the infinity lens, quadrupole and detector systems have been designed to be maintenance free to ensure maximum productivity without user intervention between scheduled preventative maintenance visits.

The PlasmaLab Windows 2000 software gives the operator seamless control of all X-Series ICP-MS analysis routines.

Integrating over 18 years of ICP-MS user experience from over 1000 customer laboratories, the X Series ICP-MS makes even the most sophisticated analytical task, easy to follow for any operator.

With validated application packs available, the X-Series ICP-MS is supplied ready proven as a reliable, high productivity system.
