Pittcon launch for machine claiming highest signal-to-noise ratio of any quadrupole-based ICP-MS; two models for routine and high-performance applications are available

The X series ICP-MS from Thermo Elemental is said to have the highest signal to noise ratio of any quadrupole based ICP-MS, delivering performance and reliability suitable for even the most demanding high throughput laboratories This new ICP-MS is available in routine and high performance versions, where the modular design of system options provides a guaranteed 'plug and play' upgrade path from the entry level X5 to the most versatile X7

There is a full range of options including second generation Collision Cell Technology (CCT), peltier cooled sample introduction and additional gas handling, to enable the instrument configuration to be tailored for the users' specific applications.

PlasmaScreen Plus technology enables the determination of Li, Na, Ca, and Fe to sub ng/l in high purity semiconductor matrices, while the Xi interface reduces polyatomics in complex environmental matrices enabling the detection of Fe at single figure µg/l and trace elements such as Cd and Pb at ng/l levels.

Designed for maximum uptime with minimum maintenance, the compact, modular, easy access construction of the instrument makes it quick and easy to install, offering the highest productivity and performance in its class.

The PlasmaLab Windows 2000 software gives even the most inexperienced operator seamless control of all X series ICP-MS analysis routines and is equally suited to busy environmental monitoring laboratories or the demanding semiconductor clean room environments, operating to full protocol compliance.

This latest ICP-MS system enables increased profitability in high throughput laboratories needing to meet stringent worldwide environmental regulatory protocols, and is already proven to exceed the requirements of US EPA 200.8, US EPA 6020, Japanese JISK 0102, German TVO, and UK DWI NS30.

The extended dynamic range of the mass spectrometer allows the measurement of Na and other alkali metals to be measured over 200mg/l within this same analytical run.

The X series ICP-MS is supplied ready proven as a reliable, high productivity system.

It provides the complete analytical solution including robust hardware, fully featured software, customer endorsed, validated application packs, and knowledgeable technical and applications support.
