Thermo Elemental is introducing a new AA Clinical Analysis information pack for clinical diagnostic purposes.

Thermo Elemental is introducing a new AA Clinical Analysis information pack for clinical diagnostic purposes.

This helpful pack highlights the flexibility of atomic absorption (AA) as a cost-effective method of carrying out the full range of elemental clinical analyses.

Clinical analysis has long been associated with AA; and modern dual atomiser systems, such as the Thermo Elemental M Series, offer an ideal approach.

Major cations such as Na, K, Ca and Mg are easily determined by a simple flame method while trace metals such as Pb, Cu, Se and Al have well developed graphite furnace methodologies available.

A range of complementary accessories, such as the Slotted Tube Atom Trap (STAT) and autosampler for microsampling, permit further specialised techniques for rapid screening purposes.

To demonstrate the suitability and flexibility of Atomic Absorption for clinical analysis, Thermo Elemental has compiled an AA Clinical Pack, consisting of proven methods, for flame and furnace AA for fast screening and full quantitative analysis of the major clinical elements.

In addition, there is a new article included with an overview of clinical applications, together with useful examples of current tried and tested methodology.

The pack assists biochemists with little or no AA spectroscopy experience, to easily operate the AA for clinical diagnostic applications.
