One step beyond the competition
Locked nucleic acid (LNA) oligonucleotides for hybridisation assays and PCR offer specificity, reproducibility, and flexibility to adjust melting temperature (Tm) values and probes in multiplex assays
Thermo Electron has acquired a non-exclusive license for production and supply of locked nucleic acids (LNA) to the worldwide scientific research community from the Danish company Exiqon This agreement allows Thermo to produce all types of high-quality LNA oligonocleotides and to assist customers with questions regarding the design and application of LNA molecules

Due to the enhanced stability of LNA-DNA hybrids, LNA probes are able to improve nearly all types of basic genomic research, such as Fish and microarray analysis as well as antisense applications.
The ability to tailor the melting temperature of an LNA molecule allows customers to optimise all experiments with Tm as a critical parameter such as PCR, SNP detection and expression profiling.
The broad application range of LNA combined with Thermo's experience in nucleic acid chemistry and biopolymer synthesis will take customers to a new edge of genomic research - one step ahead of their scientific competitors - says Thermo.
