The new TRF measurement technology offers improved assay performance for cellular assays as the interference of background fluorescence is minimised.
Additionally, TRF labels are especially suitable for multilabel assays due to narrow emission peaks and different fluorescence lifetimes.
TRF multilabeling is also commonly used for detection of binding assays using fluorescence resonance energy transfer (TR-Fret).
Varioskan's versatile features enable a wide range of applications.
Fast kinetic assays such as Ca2+ flux studies and enzyme kinetics benefit from Varioskan's built-in dispenser.
The dispenser allows simultaneous dispensing and measurement directly from reaction onset.
Assays requiring long incubation times, like cytotoxicity and antimicrobial susceptibility assays, can be performed with the help of the high precision incubator.
Low UV area photometry with an optical path length correction function is excellent for direct measurement of DNA, RNA, and protein concentrations, as well as nucleic acid purity testing.
UV fluorometry based on tryptophan fluorescence is a useful tool in protein ligand binding assays.
Varioskan is controlled by SkanIt software.
The software allows easy assay setup, effortless data reduction and comprehensive report formatting.
Available editions include a research edition for life science researchers and a drug discovery edition for compliance with 21 CFR Part 11.
