Avoiding contamination problems is one of the crucial requirements of ensuring optimum conditions for tissue cell and culture growth

Avoiding contamination problems when using an incubator for research and laboratory applications is one of the crucial requirements of ensuring optimum conditions for tissue cell and culture growth With certain types of incubator measures such as a sterilisation cycle are used to collect particulate or irradiating contamination, after it has occurred

However, Nuaire AutoFlow incubators, available from Triple Red, incorporate features which significantly reduce the risks of contamination before they cause problems.

For example, the DH model direct heat CO2 automatic air-jacketed incubator includes a Hepa filter which surrounds the blower on the positive side.

This filter continuously cleans the circulated chamber air within the incubator and uniformly distributes and cleans the air within the chamber at a rate of one complete change per minute and therefore significantly reduces the risk of contamination.

The microprocessor based electronic control system is specifically designed to deliver the precise requirements for the chamber environment, providing optimum programmable conditions for culture growth.

The touch control keypad, status indicators and LED display, combine to ensure ease of use.

A relative humidity level of 95% is achieved in the incubator by use of the large stainless steel pan filled with distilled water, placed on the bottom of the chamber.

However, it is necessary to properly set the door and front perimeter heater which reduces condensation within the chamber.

Should an application involve the need for operators to frequently open and close the incubator door, a fast recovery time of temperature is assured at a rate of 0.3C per minute.

Other standard features for the DH Autoflow incubator include, a digital infrared CO2 gas sensor, four polished stainless steel shelves, heavy-duty leg levelers, remote alarm contacts, double redundant temperature sensors and a tempered inner glass door.

A range of optional features and accessories are available including automatic internal tank switch, RS-232 communication output, additional shelves, external CO2 tank alarm, surge protector and four inner Lexan doors.
