Thermo Electron has incorporated highly-selective reaction monitoring (H-SRM) into its Finnigan TSQ Quantum family of triple quadrupole mass spectrometers This analytical application, a more advanced version of the widely used selective reaction monitoring (SRM) quantitative technique, helps to further eliminate chemical noise and reduce the generation of false positives, and allows lower detection limits

However, with H-SRM the precursor ion is selected with a mass tolerance of +/-0.1m/z or less thereby demonstrating the compelling advantages of H-SRM over SRM.
