Upgrade any fluorescence lifetime
imaging system
The use of LEDs is said to be unique and offers advantages in terms of stability, robustness and lower cost compared to conventional laser excitation
Lifa is an add-on module which can be used to upgrade any fluorescence microscope to a wide-field frequency-domain Flim system, says TauTec The module consists of a high resolution gain modulated intensified CCD camera as homodyne imaging detector, electronic control unit and a microscope lamp housing which accommodates high power intensity modulated light emitting diodes (LED) for excitation at different wavelengths

Multifocal multiphoton microscope is based on a beam divider that splits up an incoming laser beam into up to 64 beamlets which are scanned simultaneously in the object plane
The use of LEDs is said to be unique and offers advantages in terms of stability, robustness and lower cost compared to the conventional laser excitation.
The fluorescent proteins, CFP, YFP and GFP that are typically used for the study of protein-protein interactions can be efficiently excited by the available LEDs.
The software allows convenient control of LED (modulation frequency, intensity), image intensifier (gain, modulation frequency), phase, image acquisition, display and data processing.
It provides high resolution Flim images with 100ps time resolution.
Main applications are protein-protein interactions via Flim/Fret methodology.
