LGC rebrands Mikromol reference standards
Full product range of over 2000 impurity standards derived from more than 500 active pharmaceutical ingredients can be found in the new Pharmaceutical reference substances and impurities catalogue
In addition to the reference substances, the catalogue lists the current and up-coming versions of publications and subscriptions issued by the pharmacopoeias.
Microbiologists will be particularly pleased to see an extended range of cultures from ATCC which covers all the organisms specified in the pharmacopoeias.
LGC Promochem says it is Europe's only officially authorised distributor of both USP reference substances and ATCC cultures.

Catalogue of abuse
Reference materials for clinical, forensic and toxicological analysis updated to include new matrix materials including drugs of abuse in saliva
For the first time, the new catalogue includes reference materials for physical properties measured in pharmaceutical laboratories including thermal, surface, optical and electrical properties, ion activity and viscosity from well known organisations such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (Nist) and the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM) with its range of BCR materials.
Another new addition is the range of Picograde solvents and high purity solvents for HPLC applications.
Picograde solvents are rigorously tested to ensure that they meet the demanding requirements of organic trace analysis detection of organic environmental contaminants with the highest possible accuracy.
High purity HPLC solvents from LGC Promochem complement the Picograde range, and products include solvents for isocratic analytical HPLC and gradient grade quality solvents.
Special solvents for VOC/EOX and aromatic hydrocarbon analysis are also available.
"We have tried to produce a bible for the pharmaceutical industry," said LGC Promochem's Claudia Ketteler who, as business development manager for pharmaceutical, clinical and forensic reference materials, is responsible for the catalogue.
"All the reference materials that the industry needs are included in this one catalogue and can be supplied from one source - LGC Promochem".
A thorough check has been carried out to ensure that the information regarding compendial articles provided is based on the official pharmacopoeial lists in September 2004 and is correct at the time of print.
The catalogue uses the original descriptions and spellings of the manufacturers but, in some cases, additional information has been included to make the lists more convenient to use.
LGC Promochem claims to be the leading reference materials supplier in Europe, and as such to offer the widest range of certified pharmaceutical chemical reference substances (CRS) and pharmaceutical impurities available from a single source.
