Katy, who was originally born in Surrey but who lives in Dublin, Ireland, explains "I have a degree in agricultural science (food science) from the Agricultural Science department in University College Dublin and a PhD from the chemistry department.
My PhD studies concentrated on the analysis and characterisation of food colloids using ultrasonic spectroscopy.
The research work targeted structural and thermodynamic transition measurements in biological tissues, casein micelles and different food products.
For Ultrasonic Scientific, I am working with customers in QA, QC, research and product development in the pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries."
