Analytica preview: Ultrasonic Scientific
A new high-resolution spectrometer takes centre stage, aiming to move ultrasonic technology from hospitals and submarines into the pharmaceutical laboratory
With the titration kinetic analyser, microstructural and molecular processes can be measured when concentration of selected compounds are changed (titration).
This makes it perfect for drug screening and measuring binding constants, enzymatic activity and kinetics of chemical reactions.
Also being shown for the first time is Ultrasonic Scientific's new customer-driven spectrometry software.

Free seminar on ultrasonic spectroscopy
One day workshop has been scheduled to offer scientists, including laboratory managers, materials scientists and chemists, a total introduction to this new technique
This new software is said to be four times faster than the previous version and includes task orientated steps which require limited manual input, extensive database of background material, extended data analysis capabilities, and integrated help system.
In addition, Ultrasonic Scientific's extensive range of accessories/external plug-in modules for the HR-US 102 high-resolution spectrometer are being shown.
These accessories transform the HR-US 102 spectrometer, which was originally designed for analysis of liquid systems, into a platform for performing a wide range of additional analytical functions.
Among these accessories is the new titration accessory which allows enhanced analysis of intermolecular interactions, ligand binding, aggregation processes, gelation and phase transitions amongst others.
The titration accessory enables measurement of the associated microstructural and molecular rearrangements in the sample and allows precision change in concentration of selected chemical components in the ultrasonic cell.
Ultrasonic Scientific will present its technology in on-booth seminars and demonstrations, and provide solutions to common analytical problems.
While discovering the capabilities of this exciting and innovative new technology visitors to the booth will be given the opportunity to sample some of the everyday products that will be analysed during the demonstrations.
