Vision Engineering has introduced the Dynascope VS8 Vision Scanning system featuring new expanded pupil technology to offer higher magnifications at a lower cost.
Vision Engineering has introduced its latest Dynascope Vision Scanning system, the VS8, which features the company's new expanded pupil technology to offer higher magnifications at a lower cost The new VS8 supersedes Vision's VS7 scanner and additionally offers users a unique choice: the unit can be specified with either the company's eyepieceless Lynx head for optimum stereo ergonomics or the innovative high resolution, high brilliance Cobra head for very high magnifications

Both VS8 variants are fitted as standard with Vision's new switchable oblique and direct viewing optic.
In oblique mode, the optic provides a 360 deg view field at an incident angle of 34 deg, plus a generous working distance of 28mm.
The oblique view mode can be specified as manual or motorised for its rotational movement.

Plug-in unit improves microscope performance
Vision's patented Isis accessory fits in place of traditional eyepieces on mono, routine, research and stereo microscopes and gives a greater freedom of head movement which reduces fatigue
Continuing the company's focus on ergonomics, the VS8-Lynx scanner configuration allows maximum operator head freedom with efficient full-range illumination in direct and oblique view modes.
In this configuration, the new viewer provides zoom magnification from x6 to x40 in direct view mode and x4 to x28 in its oblique mode.
The unit is targeted at surface mount electronics assembly inspection and is expected to build on Vision's impressive installed base for its VS7 scanner - a product in use at most of the world's top OEM and EMS providers' sites.
Configured with Vision's Cobra head, which offers even greater light efficiency, the VS8 is targeted at applications requiring very high magnifications such as Ultra Fine Pitch assembly, TAB, wire bonding, precision wafer bumping characteristics, etc.
Cobra delivers maximum brilliance for superior high-resolution stereo images and delivers higher zoom magnifications of x12 to x80 direct, and up to x56 oblique.
In addition to offering higher magnifications, the VS8 provides a clearer optical path at lower magnification and a simplified accessory interface for image capture by video, 35mm, digital or Polaroid cameras.
As standard, the VS8 also employs powerful 250W halogen illumination, which offers a low consumable cost.
The new scanner also features Vision's lockable fine-movement floating scanning table which is earthed for maximum ESD safety.
In rework applications, an optional fume extractor can be added to further improve the working environment.
The double benefit of increased optical performance complemented by a reduction is price is made possible by the incorporation of state-of-the-art injection moulding technology, which allowed the design team to reduce manufacturing costs. Request a free brochure from Vision Engineering ...
