Viscotek has announced new technical data that demonstrates how its unique low angle light scattering (Lals) detector achieves results not possible using traditional light scattering technologies.
Characterisation of natural and synthetic polymers
The Rimax gel permeation / size exclusion chromatography (GPC/SEC) is a powerful tool for the conventional characterisation of polymers, copolymers, proteins, nanoparticles and other macromolecules
Since then the company has pioneered innovative technologies and products for the characterisation of natural and synthetic polymers and proteins, and determination of dilute solution viscosities.
This pioneering spirit has allowed it to become a market leader in the manufacture of gel permeation chromatography (GPC), flow injection polymer analysis (Fipa), and dilute solution viscosity (DSV) detectors and software, it says.
The introduction of new products including the GPCmax, OmniSec software and the low angle light scattering (Lals) detector for the triple detector array over the last few years has enabled Viscotek to maintain steady growth.
Viscotek says its triple detection systems, which employ a concentration detector, viscometer and light scattering detector operating in concert, are today the defacto standard for the characterisation of natural and synthetic polymers and proteins in the petrochemical, specialty chemical, elastomers, adhesives, coatings, food, agricultural, academic, pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets.
