Setting standards in particle sizing
Maintaining measurement accuracy with smaller samples requires a significantly higher degree of sampling and measurement precision than is needed with large volume measurements
Whitehouse Scientific now produces a unique polydisperse standard for use with the Hydro uP small volume sample dispersion unit available for the Malvern Mastersizer 2000 particle size analyser Many laboratories need to measure the particle size of extremely small quantities of sample or need to minimise solvent usage

Over the past six years, Whitehouse Scientific has produced more than 80,000 single shot quality audit standards for Malvern Instruments.
Weights have ranged from 5g down to 0.25g.
The introduction of a small volume dispersion unit has brought a need to reduce the sample weight even further, down to 70mg while maintaining the sample-to-sample reproducibility.
Whitehouse's specially developed 100-stage spinning riffler has been subjected to rigorous testing and has proved to be highly accurate and effective in producing standards with tightly defined particle size distributions.
20,000 bottles, each containing 70mg of standard with identical particle size distributions from 15 to 115 microns, have now been produced.
The standard is ideal for checking the performance of both the instrument and the operator and is vital in any validation programme where precision results are essential. Request a free brochure from Whitehouse Scientific ...
