Whitehouse Scientific has been active for many years in promoting science in primary schools A laboratory with a 'science trail' installed in a local school had a dramatic effect on the performance of the pupils

From being a school struggling to attract pupils, it now has a healthy waiting list.

This year the 'encourage a child in science' campaign was extended outside the UK.

Two young students from a children's home in Manila, who have a real aptitude for science, were invited along with their teacher for two weeks' work experience in the Whitehouse Scientific laboratory in Chester, UK.

There they performed filter calibrations and helped to certify particle size reference standards.

Catherine aged 14, and Rashelle aged 17, spoke in local primary and secondary schools of their experiences in Manila.

Despite the difficulties in their backgrounds, both are proficient in English and science and impressed the audience.

The overwhelming message was that education, and science in particular, is the key to a successful career. Request free introductory details about products from Whitehouse Scientific ...
