Mid-IR verification of materials
The new InfraSpec VFA-IR spectrometer, from Wilks Enterprise, allows chemical and pharmaceutical materials to be quickly verified at remote locations without sending them to a centralised lab.
As all organic and most inorganic molecules have characteristic mid-IR spectra, FT-IR instruments have routinely handled this analysis in the laboratory However, results may not be available for several hours or days as it is impractical to locate them at loading docks, warehouses or productions where the measurements are needed

Measuring ethanol in gasoline in under a minute
Two portable, easy-to-use mid-IR analysers to measure the percent ethanol in gasoline and/or water in ethanol or methanol are now available from Wilks Enterprise
The InfraSpec VFA-IR spectrometer incorporates a patent design and has no moving parts or optical path exposed to air.
It is rugged, weighs only about 2kg, and insensitive to environmental changes, making it ideal for such on-site analyses.
With a simple interface for non-technical operators, a material is placed on the ATR sample stage and it is either accepted or rejected.
Analysis time is typically under one minute.
The full spectrum of the material is stored for technicians to review if necessary.
Remote IR measurements with the InfraSpec Spectrometer provide the immediate information necessary for product verification to help improve overall chemical and pharmaceutical processing plant operating efficiencies. Request a free brochure from Wilks Enterprise ...
