Improved performance and easier operation and maintenance is claimed for this latest version, offered in a wider range of nominal sizes and process connections

Yokogawa UK has introduced a new version of the Admag series magnetic flowmeter which offers improved performance as well as easier operation and maintenance The Admag AXF series boasts an accuracy of +/-2%, and incorporates an enhanced dual-frequency excitation technique to provide increased resistance to slurry noise and a minimum measurable conductivity of 1microsiemens/cm

The maximum pulse output rate for high-speed applications such as short-duration batch processes is increased to 10,000 pulses per second.

The enhanced dual-frequency excitation technique provides increased resistance to fluid noise, which can occur when solid objects in high concentration slurries brush against the electrodes.

As a result, the AXF series has 2.5 times the noise resistance of earlier models using conventional (non-enhanced) dual frequency excitation, says the company.

A major step forward to ease maintenance is provided by an electrode adhesion diagnostic function to minimise the effects of build-up of material on the electrodes, which can affect accuracy and requires periodical maintenance work.

The new adhesion diagnostic function makes it possible to monitor the status of adhesion in real time, issue alarms as appropriate and indicate corrective measures on the LCD display.

Maintenance is also eased by the use of (optional) replaceable electrodes which can easily be removed for cleaning or replacement.

The large, backlit full dot matrix LCD can display a variety of messages up to three lines in length.

The most frequently used parameters are arranged in a group at the top of the display, and infrared switches enable the setting of parameters without opening the cover.

The display can show messages in different languages, and automatically indicates what actions need to be undertaken when an alarm is issued.

In addition to improvements in performance and usability, the Admag AXF series is offered in a wider range of nominal sizes and process connections, including the ability to change the position of the electrical connection.

The Admag AXF is shipped with the main parameters completely set and can go into operation as soon as installation and wiring are completed.
