The new instrument has four independent analogue input function blocks for mass flow, volume flow, density and temperature calculation

Yokogawa United Kingdom has introduced a new version of its Rotamass Series 3 Coriolis mass flowmeter with Foundation Fieldbus communications The new RCCT3 model supports bi-directional fieldbus communications, ensuring interoperability with other field instruments and offering cost reductions by the use of multi-drop wiring with fewer cables

The new instrument has four independent analogue input function blocks for mass flow, volume flow, density and temperature calculation.

Also included are two independent integrator function blocks for mass, volume or net totalisation, while two additional analogue input function blocks for concentration measurement and net flow calculation are available as options.

The unit securely supports various alarm functions based on the Foundation Fieldbus specification, including high/low alarms and notification of block errors.

A reliable self-diagnostic function detects fault conditions including measurement range failure, hardware failure or parameter range violation.

The RCCT3 fieldbus model supports the Link Master function, which provides backup of network management and allows local control using field devices.

An optional PID (proportional/integral/derivative) function block allows field devices to control processes, while a software download option allows communication software to be updated under operational conditions.

The Rotamass 3 Series mass flowmeter features a heavy-wall, seamless, dual-tube design that is decoupled from any process vibration or pipeline stress guaranteeing reliability and output stability.

Nine different detectors enable customisation of the meter for the best combination of mass flow range, pressure drop, and accuracy at the lowest possible cost.

The versatile instrument can be used in the most difficult applications from cryogenics to molten liquids as well as in sanitary applications and in environments with aggressive chemicals.
