In situ measurement of dissolved carbon
dioxide
The YSI 8500 allows monitoring of dissolved CO2 via real-time display of data, or the instrument's plot function can be used for viewing CO2 trends graphically.
YSI (UK) now offers the 8500 CO2 monitor for measuring dissolved carbon dioxide in situ Featuring a patented opto-chemical technology, this system is designed to fit within a variety of bioreactors to deliver precise, real-time data that will increase understanding of bioprocess development and manufacturing control

Performance of a lab instrument in a hand-held
The Reichert TS Meter-D is the first clinical, digital, hand-held refractometer that performs as well as most laboratory-grade refractometers, with the ease-of-use and price of a hand-held
Users can upload data to a computer or integrate the output signal into existing control processes.
Data points can be logged as frequently as every 15 seconds, but can be set to longer intervals to accommodate specific applications.
The YSI 8500 is based on technology developed at Tufts University and commercialised by YSI.
It utilises a fibre-optic cable to transfer light through a stainless-steel probe and into a disposable sensor capsule, which contains a fluorescent dye.
As CO2 moves into the capsule's dye layer, a reaction occurs which changes the dye's fluorescence.
The resulting light emission from the dye is transferred back through the cable to the monitor, which calculates the level of dissolved CO2 based on ratiometric analysis of the dye's fluorescence.
Especially useful in bioprocess development applications, the YSI 8500 CO2 Monitor enables scientists, technicians, and production managers to gain control of CO2 and related factors, which can result in improved cell viability and higher product yields. Request a free brochure from YSI (UK) ...
